SALMON STEELHEAD & STURGEON

about the fish we catch

SALMON

Tillamook Bay Fall Chinook

Fishing for these large trophy sized salmon starts in mid September and runs through mid
November. These fish will average 25 to 30 Ibs. with several in the forty pound class and
an occasional 50 pounder. Fishing is done from a comfortable 22 ft. Willy Jet Sled with
seating for four.

Spring Chinook
Fishing in the Columbia, Willamette and North Santiam Rivers from mid march until the
end of May. These are the finest eating Salmon available with the majority of the fish
running 15 to 25 Ibs. Fishing for these fish are from a 22 ft Willy Jet Sled with seating
for four or from a 17 ft Willy drift boat in the North Santiam River.

Buoy 10
This is a short season near the mouth of the Columbia River at Astoria during the month
of August. Fishing for Chinook and Coho can provide nonstop action. Here again fishing
is from a 22 ft Will Jet Sled.
 


STEELHEAD

Winter Steelhead fishing is done primarily on the scenic Siletz River in Lincoln County.
Fishing is done from a heated 17 ft. Willy Drift Boat with seating for two or under some circumstances three.
Fishing begins in mid December and runs through March. Fishing in February and March usually produces some large native steelhead as well as some
good action on brood stock steelhead.

Summer Steelhead fishing is done on the North Santiam River and will begin in June and last as long as water levels permit. Fishing is from a 17ft Willy Drift Boat with seating for two.


STURGEON

Fishing for over size sturgeon in the Columbia River below Bonneville Dam in June and
July can provide the thrill of a lifetime. Some of these fish can exceed 10ft in length and are tremendous fighters. Any fish over 60 inches must be released unharmed.
Fishing for keeper sturgeon in the Columbia River near Astoria can at times provide
nonstop action. This fishing is also in June and July and is done from a 22 ft Willy Jet
Sled which can accommodate five.
